Non-carnivorous plants

Foeniculum vulgare "Bronze"

Companion plant

Bronze Fennel is of the same species but quite a different appearance than the standard culinary green fennel. Both possess extremely fine filamentous branching leaves, but while the typical form is bright green and develops thickened stems, this version keeps a thin base and instead shunts all its energy into briliantly bronze-purple leaves topped with tiny umbels of scattered yellow flowers. It should be quite cold-hardy and perennial, and is not only ornamental with its smoky foliage...but just as aromatic and edible as the standard form!Available plants are seedlings between 2-5" tall; they will be green from lower light but turn bronze with full sun acclimation.
